Millie Allen, Pricing Director at Nupharm, took an unconventional route to pricing. She tried a range of creative pursuits, training as a Make Up Artist, learning the guitar, and even trying her hand at stand-up comedy. However, Millie's pricing credentials are no joke- read on to find out more about Millie's experiences and thoughts on pricing!

Pull to Pricing

"My journey to pricing wasn’t very direct! I originally started as a warehouse operative for Phoenix Medical Supplies at 19.  I next moved into a role assisting with the purchases of PI products for our pharmacies, building on my analytical skills and starting to understand manufacturer deals and market pricing.

I developed an addiction for finding, analysing and creating the best deals I possibly could.

I later became the PI Pricing Manager, handling sell prices of all our Parallel Import products across different customer channels.

What attracted me to pricing as a career was the fast pace; it’s always interesting! I love being able to see the influence you can have. There is nothing more satisfying than  seeing increases in value to both the business and the customers."

Progress of Pricing

"Software is probably the biggest change I’ve seen during my time in the industry. There are so many different options now to assist you in your processes, it has always been fast paced but it certainly isn’t showing any signs of slowing!"

Future of Pricing

"The markets change so quickly and for so many reasons, it would be impossible to have a strong business without someone analysing and aligning your products to keep within the curve.

You may have the best product in the world but without the right pricing strategy, you won’t be successful."
